The Cycle of the Seasons
By Cindy Grigg

1     What's your favorite season? In the spring, days get a little longer. We have more sunlight. The weather gets warmer but not too hot. Flowers bloom. Trees begin to grow new leaves!

2     Do you love summer? Summer gives us long, sunny days. The weather is warm. Sometimes it is hot! We can go swimming. In the summer, it's nice to have green leafy trees to give us shade. Being in the shade is much cooler than being out in the hot sunshine!

3     Do you like fall better? Fall (or autumn) brings cooler weather. We may need to wear jackets. Many kinds of trees have colored leaves in the fall. Leaves may be red, orange, or yellow. We don't see these colored leaves any other season of the year. It's fun to rake up a big pile of fall leaves and jump in them!
