1     Premolar is my name. I am also called bicuspid. I am "by the cuspids." That's not really what my name means, but we'll get to that in a minute. I have more jobs than any other tooth. I am able to cut, tear, crush, and grind food! Chances are good that if you snack on carrot sticks, you use me. There are eight of me. Two are behind each cuspid (canine) tooth.
