By Kathleen W. Redman
Cassie gets an allowance every week. She can save it all. She can spend it all. She can save some. She can spend some. Sometimes Cassie saves her money. She might save it to buy a video game. She doesn't do that often, though. Most of the time, she spends her money as soon as she gets it.
She buys sweet things almost every week. She spends most of her money on sugary food. She buys a lot of it. She buys chocolate candy. She buys chewy candy. She buys candy that tastes like fruit. She buys sodas. She buys doughnuts. She likes jelly doughnuts best of all.
Her mom and dad call Cassie's treats "junk food." Her parents say that her treats are not good for her. That is why they call them "junk food." They say she should stop eating so many treats.Paragraphs 4 to 6:
