A New Coach

International Coaching Week

Reading Comprehension for February 6

Bobby walked through the kitchen door.

He dropped his helmet on the table.

He sat down in a chair. He looked very sad.

"What is wrong?" his father asked.

"Oh, nothing," Bobby said.

"Why do you look so sad, then?" his father asked.

Bobby did not say anything.

"Did you have fun at football practice?" his father asked.

"It was okay," Bobby said. "We have a new coach."

"Is that why you are sad?" his father asked.

"I guess so. I liked Coach Martin better. He let me be the quarterback."

"What did the new coach do?"

"He made all of us try other positions," Bobby said. "I even had to try to kick field goals!"
