I Wish I Was a Polar Bear

Polar Bear Day

Reading Comprehension for February 27

Tom looked out the window. The snow was falling very hard.

"May I go out and play, Dave?" he asked his older brother.

Dave shook his head. "No, it is snowing too hard. It is too cold. Only a polar bear could go out to play today."

"I wish I was a polar bear," said Tom. "I would have a thick white coat. I could play in the snow all day. I would never get cold!"

"What would you do at lunch time?" asked Dave.

"I would come in for soup," said Tom.

Dave laughed and shook his head. "Polar bears do not eat soup. Polar bears hunt their food. They like to eat seals most of all."

Tom made a face. "Yuck," he said. "How do they catch seals?"
