Keith Interviews Carla Condor

"Good morning, boys and girls. This is Keith Trace, the host of Amazing Animals. I hope you are excited about today's guest, Carla Condor. Although Carla is only 25 years old, she may live to be as old as 50! Here she is-Carla Condor!"

"Good morning, Keith. Good morning, children."

"Carla, you are looking great this morning. Those black feathers are beautiful. The white feathers on the underside of your wings are just right. That bunch of fluffy black feathers around your neck is perfect!"

"Thank you, Keith. Some people think I am ugly because I don't have any feathers on my head and neck."

"Well, that's just not true, Carla. When you fly, you are so graceful. I love to watch you."

"You are very kind, Keith. California condors have the largest wingspan of any North American bird. Adults have wingspans around 9.1 feet. We do look graceful in the air."

"Carla, if we went out for dinner, what would you like to eat?"

"I will eat almost any kind of meat. I eat mostly meat that has been dead for a while. I don't have a sense of smell, so if the meat isn't fresh, it doesn't matter. My favorites are deer, goats, sheep, donkeys, and horses."

"Carla, if you have no sense of smell, how do you find the carcasses?"
