"Addition Number Bonds Up to 99" features 16 individual number bonds on each page with answers up to 99. Sometimes, students combine the two numbers at the bottom to find the answer at the top. In other cases, they're given the answer, and they must fill in one or both of the circles down below.

Each page includes instructions that tell students to complete each number bond using addition and see how long it takes. There are spots where they can write down their starting time and ending time. A fidget spinner image is also included on the worksheet page if you decide you want students to count the number of spins it takes them to complete the worksheet instead.

Number bonds support the development of number sense by demonstrating how two numbers are combined, enabling them to see numbers as sets of two addends, in addition to supporting addition and subtraction skills.

Middle elementary students can solve number bonds with two-digit numbers up to 99. They should find the answer in the top circle, as well as fill in one or more of the two bottom circles.

You can give students different rules when filling in both addends in a number bond for an extra challenge. For example, you might ask students to make sure one of the numbers is even, or one of them is a single-digit number.

Asking students to time themselves can be helpful if you want to encourage them to practice mental math skills. Timed worksheets can also help teachers identify students who need additional support, as well as students who need a bigger challenge.
