Students practice using the building blocks of sentences in this learning center! First, they take a set of cards and a student page. Then, they pick three cards. They must classify each word as a noun, verb, or adjective and write the words on the lines. Then, they use all three words to write a sentence. The directions tell students to use each card only once. Cards include an example sentence that includes the word so students can use their critical thinking skills to figure out if the word is a noun, verb, or adjective.

Teacher directions show how you can create a folder so students can complete the learning center at their desk. Resources also include a completed student worksheet so you can quickly and easily see some different combinations of nouns, verbs, and adjectives students might use to write sentences.
