The math center "Caterpillar Patterns: AB Patterns With Cutouts and Practice Worksheets" includes cute little caterpillar cutouts that display the beginning of an AB pattern. Then, students complete the pattern with the included segment cutouts. For example, the caterpillar body might display the pattern, "ABABAB." Students fill in the final four body segments with "ABAB." The materials for the center include an example page that shows students exactly how to do it.

A practice page is also included that features 5 caterpillars with body segments that are labeled "A" or "B." The last segments in the body are blank so students can fill them in. This page can be laminated so students can use a dry-erase marker to fill in the remaining segments.

Materials include the bin label and folder cover, in addition to directions for teachers. They show what to laminate, cut out, and which parts need hook-and-loop dots. Student directions are also included so they can complete the center independently.
