A traditional or analog clock has the numbers 1 to 12 spaced evenly around its face. It uses two hands to tell the time. The short hand is the hour hand, and the long hand is the minute hand. Each number the minute hand moves means 5 minutes, and when it completes a full circle (from 12 to 12), one hour has passed. Learning to read a traditional clock helps you know the time for school, play, meals, and sleep. It also helps you practice counting, skip-counting by 5, adding, and subtracting. When you can read the hands on a clock, you can see how much time has passed. Digital clocks are nice, but they only display the time and don't have hands to show how time flies!
