Practicing spelling and vocabulary doesn't have to mean students rewrite words and look them up in the dictionary! In this learning center, there are 12 creative ways for students to practice their spelling and vocabulary skills. They include:

* Writing each letter in a word using different colored pencils.

* Write each word with their left and right hand.

* Include the word in a silly sentence.

* Make a word search with 10 words.

* Draw pictures to go with words.

* And more!

Every practice card has an accompanying worksheet for students to complete. You can extend this learning center by having students make their own activity. They are instructed to pair each card with a worksheet and place the pair in the folder. Students can pick a student-created activity and then leave behind one of their own for the next student to complete.

These activities help students practice their spelling and vocabulary skills, but they also support creative thinking, which makes them better problem-solvers.
