It's creative writing time! Today, you'll write a limerick in Edward Lear's style.

A limerick is a funny, short poem with five lines. Edward Lear was very good at writing them. His limericks usually follow this format: Line 1 introduces a person or place. Line 2 gives more details about them. Lines 3 and 4 share something silly, absurd, or nonsensical. Line 5 ends with a punchline or twist. Rhyming is important in limericks. There are two rhyming groups: one for lines 1, 2, and 5, and the other for lines 3 and 4. Ready to give it a try? Write your limerick and draw a picture to go with it.
