Students practice identifying matching synonyms in this interactive learning center! They start by taking a set of cards and a student page. They draw one card and write the word on the worksheet. Then, they look through the remaining cards to find the synonym. They write that word next to the first word on the worksheet. They continue until they have matched all the cards.

Students can use their existing knowledge to identify synonyms, but they can also use the process of elimination for words they are unsure of, making this a great vocabulary-building and problem-solving activity.

Explicit instructions are included for students. There are also teacher directions for setting up the learning center. All materials can be placed in a folder that students can take back to their desks to complete.
