Imagine you are at the starting line. At the click of a stopwatch, you take off running. As time ticks, you go full speed. You might feel thirsty and sweaty, but you keep going. Then, you cross the finish line, and the stopwatch stops. Writing can be a lot like that! You start with a topic sentence, just like pressing the start button. Then, you add supporting sentences to give more details about the main idea while the time runs. Finally, you wrap up with a conclusion, just like hitting the stop button. Now, read this paragraph and see if you can spot all three parts.
