The learning center titled "Picture Prompt Writing Center: Sequencing, Descriptive Writing, and More" features 36 cards with different images for students to choose from. When they choose the picture they like, they write the number of the card on their worksheet. Then, they answer the prompts that ask students to:
* Write at least three sentences about what happened before the picture.
* Use at least one of the five senses to describe what's happening in the current picture.
* Include the character in a description of what happens after the picture.
* Write a question about one thing you would have most liked to have known about the picture.
The second page asks students to draw a picture to show what happens before the card they picked, and they draw another picture of what happens after the card they picked. There's a space on this page for students to write the number of the card they chose again.
The center includes step-by-step instructions for students to follow that are accompanied by pictures so they can complete the center independently. You will also find teacher directions with images that help you set up the inside and outside of the folder.
This center provides students with a fun way to practice basic sequencing by writing about what happens before, during, and after the image on the card. They also get to practice their descriptive writing skills with prompts that encourage them to incorporate the five senses and introduce the character featured on the card.
