Writing lists of words in alphabetical order helps students practice critical thinking skills and solidify their knowledge of the alphabet. This learning center aims to make the process of organizing words a little easier by turning it into a tactile activity.

Students take the set of cards from the envelope and physically put them in order. Then, they copy the words in alphabetical order on the student page.

Sets of cards are included, but you can use any set of words that works for your students. For example, you might include the week's spelling list. You can include fewer cards for young students or more cards for older students. You can give students an even bigger challenge by including cards with the same starting letters.
