This math assessment workbook gives students practice with understanding and manipulating numbers up to 10,000. It focuses on place value understanding, number comparison, and addition or subtraction of significant multiples of 10s and 100s. Problems include comparing whole numbers to determine if one is greater than, less than, or equal to another, as well as finding numbers that are 100 or 200 more or less than a given number. Students will also write numbers in standard and word forms.
This workbook reinforces core place-value skills: (1) comparing multi-digit numbers with the inequality symbols <, > and =; (2) mentally adding or subtracting multiples of ten, one-hundred, or one-thousand to a given number; (3) translating among standard, word, and expanded forms; and (4) recognizing the value contributed by each digit in a number. These objectives form the backbone of the Grade-2/Grade-3 place-value standards (CCSS 2.NBT and early 3.NBT).
