The math center titled "Shape Creations: Using Toothpicks and Playdough to Create Geometric Shapes" combines kinesthetic learning with math, asking students to use playdough to connect toothpicks and create different shapes. The activity also incorporates counting practice and writing practice, making it an engaging interdisciplinary activity.

The center includes 11 shape cards for students to choose from. They include simple geometric shapes like a diamond, a star, and a rectangle. These shape cards include a visual that shows students how many playdough balls and toothpicks they need and the shape they must recreate. There is a place for them to write the number of corners and sides on the shape, as well as a place for them to trace the name of the shape.

The center also includes four multi-shape pictures of a fish, heart, cat, and bird for an added challenge. These pages tell students how many toothpicks and playdough balls they will need. The picture is labeled with each of the shapes in the image. For example, the heart is labeled with two triangles on the top, a trapezoid in the middle, and a triangle at the bottom.

This center includes everything you need to set it up, including the bin label, folder cover, and an example image, in addition to the 11 shape cards and 4 multi-shape pictures. It also includes additional instructions for teachers, like cutting out the shape cards, laminating them, and what materials are needed to set up the center.
