"Spelling Words Multiple Times: A Word Find Puzzle" is a worksheet that features word search puzzles, but some words may be found multiple times. The instructions at the top of the page tell students to look for words to the right and down. No answers can be found diagonally.

Each word that can be found in the puzzle is listed at the bottom of the page in a sentence like "I found SNAILS ____ time (s)" so students can write down how many times they circled it in the puzzle. There are empty boxes where students can check off how many times they see each word. There's also a number bank in the middle of the page that lists all the numbers that are used in the blanks. Students can cross off each number as they write it. If the number they need isn't listed or it has already been used, they have to keep looking for that word in the word search.

Repetition can be very helpful when students are learning how to spell high-use words, as well as tricky or complex words. Instead of having students spell the same words over and over again, consider giving them practice with a word find puzzle.

A word search can be completed in conjunction with a spelling list, or you can ask your students to create a word search of their own using a list of words to choose from.

Word finds that contain the same words multiple times can give students wonderful spelling practice. They can write down how many times they found each word in the puzzle. If you give them a bank with a list of the numbers that need to be filled into each blank, they can check their work as they go.
