This learning center is a great way for learners who are just beginning to work with fractions. Each card displays a different denominator, but the numerator stays the same. This enables students to see that although the numerator may be the same, its size changes when compared to the denominator.

Students draw one card at a time and write the fraction they see on the accompanying worksheet. Each card is clearly labeled on the worksheet with blank numerator and denominator boxes to fill in. Card number 1 is filled in already as an example. When students have written the fractions for all 12 cards, the instructions tell them to put everything back and return the folder.
