Deductive reasoning is an important skill that helps students think logically to solve problems. You can help students practice this important skill in a fun way with this learning center!

Students take a set of cards and a student page. Then, they read the clues on the student page to figure out which number opens the locker. Clues cover a wide range of concepts for students to review, like finding a number that's less than another number, an odd number, or a multi-digit number that doesn't have a particular single-digit number in it.

Directions help students work through the cards by telling them that if a card doesn't fit the clue, then they should put it aside. As students put aside cards that don't match the clues, they will eventually be left with one number. They write that number in the square.

Teacher directions for setting up the learning center and student directions for completing the activity are included. An answer key is also included so you can check their work.
