This learning center gives young students practice telling time by making the clocks featured on every card a little easier to read. Each clock has a red short hand and a green long hand to help students differentiate between the hour and minutes. There is a ring around the outside of the clock where the minutes are displayed. For example, the number 5 is displayed with the number 1 on the clock, 10 is displayed with the number 2, and so on. The long hand always points directly at a number, which makes telling time a little easier for new learners, but this learning center provides a challenge too. The short hand is displayed accurately, which means it may be displayed between numbers depending on where the long hand falls.
The learning center comes with instructions for students. They tell them to:
* Take a set of cards
* Take a student page
* Read the clock on each card and write the time on the student page
* Put the set of cards back in the envelope
It also includes a teacher instruction page with images. It shows you exactly how to set up the folder so students can complete it independently at their desk.
