1     Magicians sometimes say "Pick a card, any card" when they perform card tricks. Artists have to make choices, too. Artists want to select the most "magical" medium for their ideas. The material an artist uses to create art is called the medium. There are many media to pick from. An artist can use chalk, pencil, or watercolors. He or she can also pick 3-D media like wood or clay. How would you pick a medium for an art project? If you wanted to create a picture of your fluffy cat .....
