1     Some people want to be astronauts. Some people dream of going to space. Some people are lucky enough to go. One man was lucky enough to go two times. His name is John Glenn.
 
2     John Glenn was born in 1921. He was born in Ohio. He says that he had a great childhood. His home was a rooming house. Students from a nearby college rented rooms. His father liked to travel. His mother tutored him. John loved science. He became interested in flying. He loved his country.
 
3     John Glenn went to college in Ohio. World War II started. John became a marine. He was a pilot. He flew 59 combat missions. After World War II there was another war. It was called the Korean War. John flew missions again. He flew 63 missions.
