1 What would it be like to be in your house and not be able to see or hear anything? Would you know how to get around? It may seem like a silly question, but if there were ever a fire in your house, being able to get around without seeing or hearing would be very important.
2 Sometimes fire can be very dangerous. Fires can start inside houses and very quickly burn everywhere. It's scary to think about, but some planning can keep you and your family safe.
3 Fires create lots of thick, dark smoke. Most of the time, the smoke is too thick to see through. The smoke is also very dangerous to breathe. So how can you get away from the smoke? Crawl on the floor. Smoke will rise to the ceiling, leaving mostly fresh air on the floor. Stay low and you'll stay out of the smoke.
