Amelia Earhart: A Woman of Adventure
By Kathleen W. Redman
1 Name something you have done that was a lot of fun. What was the most fun thing you've ever done? Some big things are exciting. Roller coasters can be fun and exciting. Going to a concert can be fun. Do you think flying in a plane is fun? Do you think you would like to be the pilot of a plane?
2 Small things can be fun, too. What are some things you do every day that are fun? Do you like to explore your neighborhood? Do you like to climb trees? Do you collect things like leaves or bugs?
3 A long time ago, there was a girl who loved all of that. Her name was Amelia Earhart. She was born on July 24, 1897. When she was a little girl, she loved playing outside. She loved playing with her younger sister. They were adventurers.
