1     The clock counts down. The player moves to the right. He shoots. Swoosh! The ball goes in. He made the winning shot!
 
2     Basketball is a popular sport. Some people get paid to play. Others play for fun. The game was first created in 1891.
 
3     James Naismith was a P.E. teacher. One winter, he was asked to come up with a new game. It had to be played inside. It had to keep students active. He created the game of basketball.
