Hobbit Day

By Kathleen W. Redman
1     Today is a very special day. Today is Hobbit Day.

2     My name is Esmerelda Bumbleroot of Haysend. Well, that is not my real name. That is my hobbit name. I am going to tell you about hobbits.

3     Hobbits are very small beings. They are never more than four feet tall. Most of them are about three and a half feet tall.

4     Most hobbits are just a little bit chubby. They love to eat, and they love parties. In fact, they eat seven meals a day! It is no wonder that most of them are stout!

5     The tops of their feet are hairy. The bottoms of their feet are like leather. This is very good since they don't like to wear shoes.
