Easy as Pie...Pumpkin Pie, That is!

1     I am round, but you wouldn't want to roll me. I am small, but you could get "full" on me. I'm the best of both worlds-- veggies and dessert all in one. What am I? I am a pumpkin pie!
 
2     Every year on the fourth Thursday of November many people will sit down as a family at the dinner table. They will give thanks for the many good things in their lives. Then they'll eat a yummy family feast as they celebrate Thanksgiving. Soon they will be stuffed! Just then the host will bring out a warm pumpkin pie. With clean forks and plates the next round of feasting will begin!
 
3     But why is pumpkin pie a favorite Thanksgiving Day dessert? The first Thanksgiving feast was held in 1621. The Pilgrims came to Plymouth Colony from England. Many of them died during the first winter. They had little food. In 1621, they were thankful to have grown enough food to get them through the coming winter. They had a feast. They invited their Native American friends who had helped them. .....
