1     Robert McCloskey was an author. He wrote books for kids. He also made drawings for books. His books were written many years ago. They are still loved by kids today!
 
2     Robert McCloskey was born in Ohio in 1914. There were many things that Robert liked to do. He loved music. He played the piano. That wasn't all! He played the drums and the oboe. He played the harmonica, too!
 
3     As Robert got older, he found another hobby. He liked tinkering with motors and wires. He liked to build things. He liked to take things apart. He liked to make new things. He used parts from many places. He put them together to make something new. He liked inventing!
