A Different Picnic
By Beth Beutler

1     "What are you doing for Fourth of July?" Meghan asked Melinda.

2     "Our family is going to host a picnic at our house, and then we'll go watch fireworks. How about you?"

3     Meghan looked down toward the ground. "Usually, we have a big picnic at my grandparents' house. This year, Grandma had to go into a nursing home, and we won't be having a big party."
