MyPlate is new. It took the place of the Food Pyramid. I think MyPlate makes it easier to see what I should eat.
MyPlate is a symbol. It shows a plate with four parts. A small blue circle on the right of MyPlate shows the dairy food group. That can be a glass of milk. It can also be a serving of food like cheese or cottage cheese. One of the four parts of the plate should have protein foods on it at each meal.
The protein food group includes meats. Beef, chicken, and pork are some common meats. Fish, seafood, milk, and eggs are protein foods that come from animals. You should choose fish or seafood two times each week.Paragraphs 4 to 6:
