Albert Marrin

Albert Marrin is an educator and children's book author. He has a passion for history and shares this passion with his readers. For over fifty years, Marrin has taught children that history is important. He wants to make history entertaining for children.


Albert Marrin was born in New York City on July 24, 1936. Education has always been important to him. He worked hard to get his college degrees. Marrin attended City College in New York. He earned his B.A. degree in 1958. Then he attended Yeshiva University. It is a private Jewish university in New York. He earned a master's degree in education in 1959. Marrin married Yvette Rappaport the same year. They have been married more than fifty years.


During his early 20s, Marrin began his career as a teacher. He taught social studies in a New York junior high school from 1959 to 1968. Marrin also continued his higher education. He earned a second master's degree and a Ph.D. In college he had to write a long paper called a thesis. Marrin's thesis turned into his first book, War and the Christian Conscience: Augustine to Martin Luther King, Jr. (1971). He wrote three more adult books related to history.
