Edmond Halley was born on November 8, 1656. He was born in London, England. He loved math when he was young. He also liked science. Edmond Halley was a writer. He wrote many papers about the solar system. He went to an island for two years. He studied the stars. He found new ones. Edmond Halley added over 300 stars to the star map.


Edmond Halley studied comets. One comet he studied had been seen in 1531. He found out as much about it as he could. He studied comets that had been seen in 1607 and 1682. Halley used math and science. He said the three comets were the same comet. He said that the comet would appear again in 1758. He was right; it did.
