Every year Baba Nina makes pancakes on the first day of snow.


The pancakes are special. Baba Nina makes thin, sweet pancakes called blini. She folds them into fourths. She dips them in honey or jelly. Sometimes she puts sour cream on them. Sometimes she puts soft white sugar on them.


Vera loves her grandmother's pancakes.


When Baba Nina was a little girl, she lived in Russia. Her mother taught her to make blini.
