Bridging People and Places

"A little kindness goes a long way." That is a saying that is heard in conversations all over the world. Hollie Vanderzee must have heard it, too. She created an organization to help others. It is based on showing kindness and love to those in need.

In 2000, Hollie created Bridging People and Places in New York. Its purpose is to bring people together to make a difference in the lives of others. Volunteers give their time. They give their talents in the form of service. The volunteers work with their hands. They work with their hearts. Everyone who works for Bridging People and Places receives no pay.

Each volunteer project that is made is given to someone who is having a difficult time in life. Some people are very sick. Others are being hurt. Still others may have lost a young family member. Bridging People and Places helps children, adults, and families.
