What comes to mind when you read the title? Maybe you see stern soldiers riding bulky buffalo into battle. In 1866, the U.S. Army created six all-black regiments (troops). Native Americans nicknamed them Buffalo Soldiers. (They rode horses, not buffalo.) Over the years, at least twenty Buffalo Soldiers earned the Medal of Honor.
