Dealing with a Heavy School Load

"Too many projects," Melissa muttered to herself as she lugged her heavy backpack into the library. "How am I ever going to get everything done?"

All Melissa felt like doing was taking a nap. Instead, she knew she needed to take advantage of this hour in the library to work on her history report. It was due next week, along with a book report and an art project, and she also had a big science test to study for!

Melissa found a quiet table and pulled out her laptop. She sighed as the familiar opening page appeared. Her brain just felt zapped, but she got up and went over to the history section, pulling up a book about the Civil War.

When she got back to her table, she saw that her good friend Barbara had also come to study. Barbara, familiar with Melissa's backpack, had situated herself at Melissa's table.

"Hello," Barbara whispered.

"Hey," Melissa answered with a lack of energy that Barbara noticed right away.

"What's wrong?" Barbara asked.

"I just have too much to do," Melissa admitted with a sigh. "I have several projects that are due next week, and I just don't know how they are all going to get done."

"I know the feeling," Barbara said.
