Dr. Lena

Sue's head hurt. Her throat was very sore. It was hard to swallow. Her eyes were scratchy and very wet. She hoped Dr. Lena would call her soon. The waiting room felt hot.

Finally, the nurse opened the door of the waiting room. "Sue Cullen," she said. "Sue Cullen, Dr. Lena is ready to see you." She held the door open for Sue. Sue and her mother walked with the nurse to a small room.

Sue's mother helped her put on a funny gown. The nurse helped her get up on the examining table. She used a thermometer to take Sue's temperature. It was 101 degrees.

"Uh-oh," Sue's mother said. "That is a little bit too high."

"It seems to be," the nurse said. "Dr. Lena will be here to see you in just a minute."
