Germs Make Us Sick

Germs are tiny living things. They are so small you can't see them. In fact, 1,000 germs could fit on the end of a pencil!

Germs are everywhere. They are in the air you breathe. They are in the food you eat. They are in the water you drink. They are on everything you touch.

So why aren't we always sick? Many germs are not harmful. They do not make us sick. Also, our bodies keep germs out most of the time.

Your skin helps keep germs out. As long as there are no cuts or scratches, germs can't get inside. That's why we should wash a cut with soap and water and use medicine to kill germs on it.
