Gloves and Mittens

Frozen fingers do not feel good. Gloves help. Mittens help, too. Gloves and mittens protect your hands in winter. In cold places, almost everyone wears them. Gloves and mittens are hand helpers.

Gloves have places for each finger. Some people call each spot a sheath. Gloves have five sheaths. Gloves have cousins called mittens. Mittens only have one sheath. The sheath on a mitten is for that special finger, the thumb. Mittens are warmer than gloves. Fingers against each other stay warmer!
