Go Get Some Sleep!

Do you ever go through your days feeling like you need a nap? Many people suffer from what is called "sleep deprivation," which simply means that they are not getting enough sleep each night. Your body depends on having an opportunity to rest and be replenished. Most people need at least 7 or 8 hours of restful sleep each evening to give their bodies the time to prepare for the next day. Younger people can use even more hours of sleep because their bodies are growing and changing. Ironically, many children and teens are the ones who don't want to go to sleep, while adults enjoy it!

When people do not get enough sleep, they can feel grumpy or lethargic the next day. They also may be more inclined to get sick when viruses and colds go around because their immune system has been weakened by lack of sleep.

Many people like to make their beds and bedrooms as comfortable as possible so they can sleep well. This depends on the person. Some people like a cooler room, and it is said that having the temperature down a bit works best for sleeping. However, some like it a bit warmer. Some like to sleep in light pajamas and others in heavier ones. It depends on what is comfortable for you.
