He's Nuts!

"He sure is comical," said Randy.

"Who are you talking about, dear?" Randy's mom asked as she stirred the soup on the stove.

"The squirrel outside. He won't give up trying to get onto the bird feeder."

Randy's mom sighed. It was a constant competition between her and the squirrels. She glanced out the window while wiping her hands on the nearby dishtowel. There he was again, hanging on the edge of the feeder, pulling himself up to have a snack. She had to smile. It was pretty funny sometimes.

Right after she turned back to the stove, Randy laughed again out loud.

"You should see, Mom. He tried to jump to the other feeder and landed almost upside down!'

Randy's mom smiled. "You know, Randy, there are some new feeders available now that keep squirrels off them. When the squirrel grabs the perch, it spins him around like he's on an amusement park ride."

"How cool!" Randy said.

"Another one is rigged so that the perches only hold light birds. Anything heavier makes the perch drop so that heavy birds and squirrels fall off it."
