Healthy Restaurant Food on My Plate

Eating healthy can be fun! The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has a new way to help people make good choices about what they eat in a diagram called My Plate. My Plate illustrates healthy food portions. Eating in restaurants can be fun, and there are ways to still eat healthy food while eating out.


The USDA offers suggestions about how to make good choices at restaurants. One excellent idea is to drink water, unsweetened tea, or milk, preferably fat free or low fat. This will help you avoid extra added sugars that are found in soft drinks or sweetened beverages.
