Lots of Boxes!

Megan ran across the street to Morgan's house. It was Saturday. It was a great day to play with her best friend. She ran so fast that soon her face was as red as her red hair. Piles of boxes were everywhere in Morgan's driveway. The fresh fall air blew a stack of boxes over into a pile of leaves. What was going on?

"Morgan, why do you have so many boxes?" asked Megan breathlessly. The cool air made her lungs burn.

"Oh, we're moving," said Morgan.

"Moving? Why?" said Megan. She was shocked. Morgan never said anything before about moving.

The girls ran inside. They climbed the stairs up to Morgan's room. More boxes! Morgan began putting stuffed animals into a box. Megan helped her. She did not understand this at all. Morgan didn't even seem worried.

"We'll still be close by. I will still go to our school," explained Morgan. "We are going to rent that yellow house on Main Street. My parents told me it was because of a closure."

"A closure?" Megan asked. This was getting stranger by the minute.

"Well, the whole word is foreclosure. They can't pay for this house anymore. So we are moving into that rent house until things get better. In the meantime, look at all the boxes we will have to play with!" said Morgan with a grin. Her top front tooth was missing.
