Sarah Stewart and the Sweet, Sweet Silence

Sarah Stewart has always been a bit unusual. As a girl, she was very, very shy. When people came to visit, Sarah ran and hid. One place she went was her closet. Inside her closet she felt safe. She went in there with her stuffed animals and as many books as she could carry. She could stay in there for hours!

There were two other safe places where Sarah also liked to visit. One was her grandmother's garden. The other was the library. They were both very quiet places. Each was laid out in neat rows. They were both great places for daydreaming.
