Reading Comprehension for January 29

"Not this too," she thought.

It had not been a good day for Stacie.

First, she forgot to take her lunch bag with her. She had to run back home to get it.

Then she was late for school. When she ran into the room, all the other kids laughed at her red face.

"Quiet down," the teacher said. "Stacie, please don't make so much fuss. Just sit down and do your work."

Stacie didn't mean to be late. She almost cried.

When it was time to go outside to play, Stacie couldn't go with her friends. She had to stay inside because she had been late.

Then it was time for the math lesson. Stacie was glad. She was good at math.

"Stacie, what is 28 divided by four?" the teacher asked.

"Eight," Stacie said.

"What are you thinking?" the teacher asked. "That is wrong. Is your brain asleep today?"

Stacie put her head down. This was really a very bad day.
