Snow Day!

My name is Sam. I like weather of all kinds. When I grow up, I want to be a weatherman. I think weather is really cool!


Last night, our weatherman talked about a storm. His name is Max Storm. Isn't that a cool name for a weatherman?


Max told us to expect a bad snowstorm last night. He was right!


We made sure we had plenty of water and dry foods. We got bread and peanut butter at the store. Mom thought that if we lost power, we could eat peanut butter sandwiches. That is fine with me.


Dad made sure each car was full of gasoline. That was in case we needed to go somewhere with power.


I made sure Duke, my dog, had an extra blanket nearby.


We all made sure we knew where flashlights were. We also put fresh batteries in the radio.


The snow and ice started forming about eleven o'clock. I had already gone to bed at eight. Mom had told me to plan for school. She said, "Sometimes the weatherman is wrong."
