Steven Kellogg

Kids can learn a lot of things from grownups. It is how they learn to talk. It is how they learn manners. It is how they learn about life. Steven Kellogg learned an important lesson from the grownups in his life. He saw that some grownups liked their jobs a lot. He saw that their jobs made them happy. He also saw that some grownups did not like their jobs at all. Their jobs made them grouchy. Steven Kellogg knew that he wanted a job that made him happy.


The job that Steven Kellogg ended up doing is one that he has always loved. He became a writer. As a boy, he loved picture books. He liked stories with animals the best. He played a game with his two younger sisters. The game was called, "Telling Stories on Paper." Steven would sit between his sisters with a pad of paper. He told them stories. He drew pictures to go along with the stories. He kept going and going, telling more and more stories. He often buried his sisters under all of the paper!
