The Seahorse

A seahorse is a kind of fish. They live in the ocean. Most live in shallow, warm waters. They don't really look like fish! The seahorse gets its name from its horse-like head. It swims by flapping its small fins.

Seahorses are slow but skilled swimmers. They can steer well in the water. Tiny little fins near the back of the head help it steer where it wants to go. The small fin on its back flutters as fast as a hummingbird's wings.
